1. What this policy covers

This Cookie Policy explains how Trade Confident LLC (“we”, “us”, “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies on PortfolioTA.com (the “Website”), what each one does, how long it lasts, and how you can control them.

It sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal information generally, and our Terms & Conditions. If anything here conflicts with the Privacy Policy, the Privacy Policy governs.

2. What cookies and similar technologies are

A cookie is a small text file a website stores on your device. Local storage and session storage work similarly but hold data in your browser rather than sending it with each request. We use the word “cookies” in this policy to cover all of these.

Cookies set by PortfolioTA.com are first-party cookies. Cookies set by another domain — for example our payment processor — are third-party cookies.

We do not use tracking pixels, fingerprinting, or cross-site advertising technologies.

3. The categories we use

You can use the entire Website with only strictly necessary cookies. Refusing the others costs you saved preferences between sessions, nothing else. No feature is withheld, and no content is gated behind accepting cookies.

• Strictly necessary — Keeps you signed in, secures the site against fraud and cross-site attacks, processes payments, and remembers your cookie choices. Consent needed: No. The Website cannot work without these, so they load whether or not you accept anything else.
• Functional — Remembers your display preferences: theme, default timeframe, chart layout, which indicators you had switched on. Consent needed: Yes.
• Analytics — Helps us understand which features are used and where people get stuck, in aggregate. Consent needed: Yes.
• Marketing — We do not use marketing or advertising cookies, and we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. Consent needed: n/a.

We do not currently set any analytics cookies. If we add a cookie-based analytics provider we will list it in this table and ask for your consent before it loads. Nothing in this category runs unless you have accepted it.

5. Third parties

We do not permit any third party to use cookies set through our Website to build advertising profiles or to track you across other websites.

6. How to control cookies

On the Website. Use the “Cookie settings” link in the footer at any time. You can accept all, reject all non-essential, or choose category by category. Your choice takes effect immediately, and any cookies you withdraw consent for are deleted.

In your browser. Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies — Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop you from signing in.

Global Privacy Control. If your browser or an extension sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we treat it as a valid request to opt out of the sale and sharing of personal information under the CCPA, and we apply it automatically without you needing to do anything else.

7. How long your choice lasts

Your cookie preferences are stored for 12 months, after which we will ask again. We will also ask again sooner if we add a new category of cookie or materially change what an existing one does.

Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it — one click in Cookie settings, at any time.

8. What we record when you make a choice

When you set your cookie preferences we store a record so we can prove your choice was respected. That record contains:

• a random identifier generated for your browser (not your name, and not your IP address used as an identifier);
• the date and time of your choice;
• which categories you accepted or refused;
• the version of this policy you were shown; and
• your IP address and browser user-agent, retained as supporting detail only.

Retention of consent records

If you later create an account, we link that identifier to your account so your preferences follow you. We keep consent records for four years, which is how long we may need to demonstrate compliance.

9. Changes to this policy

If we change what cookies we use or what they do, we will update this policy and, where the change requires it, ask for your consent again. The “Last Updated” date at the top always reflects the current version.
